David Byrne’s online radio channel has a new playlist monthly. Normally it’s superlative: Last month he covered the arty side of pop music for a full evening of familiar voices like Bjork and a host of introductions to acts like MaJiKer.  But this month his Latin Rock III mix is even better than usual because it’s an introduction to a musical space that I never get to hear.  Finds like Bomba Estéreo, the irrepressible Amandititita and La Santa Cecilia have immediately jumped to heavy rotation on my playlist.
